There are so many things to worry about as a new mom. Not having photographs of this time in your family's life shouldn't be one of them.

As a new mom myself, I wrestled with this same question—"should I do it?" Of course, there are a zillion other "priorities" that can easily seem more urgent than investing in maternity or newborn photography. But clothes will stain and grow too small, gear will break or end up in the garage, and that tiny baby will grow up into a toddler, then a preschooler, and before you know it, a child who no longer fits the "baby" description.

And when that happens—and believe me, it will—these photographs will be one of the few lasting links to your family's past and today.

Believe me, with children firmly in the 'tween' camp myself, I wish I had done more to save my own boys' babyhoods. And I want to make sure other mamas take advantage of the earliest moments together–forever.

From pregnancy and birth to their first birthday, your baby's first year will change your life in the most joy-filled ways you've never imagined. Make it a priority to have professional photographs taken of your baby (and your whole family!) that first year. I am Nebraska-based newborn and maternity photographer focused on capturing these moments for you.

Where do you photograph in Nebraska? Do you travel?

I photograph newborns and their families in Omaha, Lincoln, and Seward, Nebraska as well as Houston, Texas, and wherever my clients are located—there is nowhere I won't travel! My studio is located in downtown Seward, Nebraska.

What is included with the newborn photography experience?

Your bespoke newborn photo session with Emily Nix Photography includes professionally edited photos, a private online gallery, and the rights to download, print, and share your edited images. I also offer a First Year Collective membership, which includes maternity, newborn, milestone, and family photos.

Where should we plan to take our newborn photos?

As an ENP client, I am happy to consult with you and help you decide if an in-home, outdoors, or in-studio newborn photo session location is best for your family. I offer in-home lifestyle newborn sessions anywhere in Nebraska as well as newborn photo sessions in my studio in Seward, Nebraska. Not local to Nebraska? I love to travel and will hope in a car (or plane!) to travel anywhere you are.

What type of newborn photos do you take? Are they posed or lifestyle photos?

As you have noticed from the images above, I take simple, bright, clean, joyful images of newborns. I prefer my newborn shoots include minimal posing and props; instead, I prefer fresh, joyful, lifestyle-inspired look of families snuggling close with their new additions. Of course, we'll also take photos just of baby!

Can you take milestone photos of my child throughout their first year?

Of course! Milestone sessions are built in to the First Year Collective package, and a la carte milestone sessions are available.
