The Meyer Fam | ENP Studios, Seward, Nebraska

The entire Meyer clan came to the Emily Nix Photography studios in Seward, Nebraska, to capture this time in their (growing!) family’s life. I met the Meyers when I photographed Alex and Justin’s Nebraska wedding, and it was so much fun to be able to photograph them all together again.

One of my favorite things about extended family photo sessions is seeing the relationships—specifically the relationships between grandparents and grandchildren! I love the images that feature the grandkids all together. As you can tell, we had quite the age range of children!

As we prepped for this session, I learned that it was important to try to get them all together as well as capturing each individual family for portraits that they could use in their own homes. In all of my family photo sessions (both immediate and extended), I will work with your family groups to make sure we come up with a shot list that includes every grouping you’re looking for—typically, that looks like a few portraits with the whole group, grandparents and grandkids, grandkids alone, adult siblings together, and individual families.

After we took the whole family’s photos, we did cousin crew pictures in their matching Christmas pajamas. So much fun! These kids love to be together and have the best time hanging out—even during a photo shoot—and it was fun to see their natural, happy reactions as they were photographed.

Studio sessions at my Seward, Nebraska, natural light studio are the perfect option for cold weather, rain, or winter days (like this one) or when you’re looking for something a little different than an outdoors session. Of course, I’m also happy to shoot outdoors in Lincoln, Omaha, Seward, or anywhere else your family is located (yes, even outside of Nebraska—or the U.S.! Just contact me about travel.)
